US Dubai Consulate FAQ

HOME > AFTER MY INTERVIEW > Visa under Administrative processing

Often applications may require additional administrative processing before the consular officer can make a decision on your case.. The officer will inform you in writing that your application is pending, and return your passport to you. The time required for administrative processing varies from case to case, and can take from one to six months, or longer.  Applicants will be notified directly by email when the administrative processing on their case is complete.  You do not need to follow up with the Consulate regarding the status of your administrative processing.

If your administrative processing is complete and your application is approved, you will receive an email to instruct you to drop off your passport at Empost for visa issuance. If your application is refused following administrative processing, the Consulate will inform you via email.

Applicants should not email the US Consulate regarding the status of the administrative processing on their case. When their administrative processing is complete, the applicant will receive an email to inform them of the next steps.
